Welcome new girl.
Johnny the Ex - you had me laughing out loud.... so much to agree with there.
i'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.
i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

hello, you sexy sassy posters of jwn.
i'm starting this thread in the hopes of finding... uh, hope.... and sharing it with others who are in a similar boat.
i'm looking for input from anyone who meets the following criteria:.
obviously the wt is pro-life when it comes to abortion, whatever the circumstances (a viewpoint completely devoid of human empathy, a quality which they consider so important) according to the bible, life begins at conception, and deliberately terminating a pregnancy is punishable with death.. but are unborn foetuses going to be resurrected?
no.. it seems that embryo's are 'human' enough for god to be pissed if you abort one, but not human enough for him to care about giving a second chance after armageddon.. another idea that's been repeated to me by several witnesses, is that some children (only the angelic like ones of course, not the little hellions that run around stepping on frogs) will survive armageddon, because they can not have made a proper decision about serving god.
but a worldly woman who is pregnant will die, thus condemning herself and her unborn to everlasting destruction.. a bit unfair isn't it?.
Anyone who thinks this matter is simple is in denial.
this is only the beginning .... .

the jw and the (pseudo?
)scientific "hopes" of individual "everlasting life" (which have been connected on a couple of recent threads) have at least something in common: they all seem to take for granted that death is a bad thing.. as amazing as it may be to you, this amazes me so much that i don't know even where to start.
of course death hurts in reality when you lose people you love, or in imagination when you anticipate your own extinction.

funny the way our minds unwind and refocus after leaving a high control religion.. when i first left the jdubs i saw them more closely to what the entire world sees them i suppose, but not truly clearly at those early stages.
they still looked to me to be 'good people' but misguided.
as time went on, though the misguided feature remained, the 'good people' supposition faded.
No one alive can state for a certainty that God exists.
By the same token, no one alive can state for a certainty that God does not exist. -Judge Dread
Actually people can and do state "for a certainty... God exists" and others can and do state "for a certainty... God does not exist". There's ample proof of that on this board, the rest of the internet and in just about every other nook and cranny where 2 or more people gather. Now should they make such categorical statements? My opinion is probably not. As a reverent agnostic I hesistate to say inflammatory things to either true believers or die hard non-believers. I think less dogmatism on both ends of the belief/disbelief spectrum makes for more peaceful coexistance, and makes JWN a more healing place for us refugees

millions of children have grown up as jehovahs witnesses.
lets start from the very beginning.. i owe my life to jehovahs witnesses.
more important than what he was saying was who he was.
As I read this I kept thinking how great it would be if one of our 'undercover' brothers used this in a local needs part on how not to discipline your kids.
we certainly don't want to allow watchtower the luxury of forgetting.

Thank you for this Len. Would you be able to repost it without the Wt quotation overlay; I'd like to get a better view of the names of the people pictured here.

Gotcha!!!
the watchtower society maintains a very strict gender dichotomy in its organization.
this is news to no one.
